Launching The interesting thing about this photo and why I’m really glad someone took this picture is that it shows my bad launch technique. Notice how I’m throwing with my arm down. Even though I’m thinking in my head, “arm straight, throw level,” I’m actually dropping my shoulder and throwing with the glider not on parallel to the ground. Now that I see what is being described to me I understand where my mental thought process is wrong. I’m keeping my arm straight, but just not parallel to the ground. 2nd Annual Summer Solstice DLG Soaring Competition

This past weekend, June 12th through the 14th, I participated in the 2nd Annual Summer Solstice DLG Soaring Competition outside of Orlando, FL. This event was a F3K competition flown with DLG gliders. It was my first time participating in a DLG competition. It was fun! The event took place over Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It was held at the Orlando Buzzards Christmas, FL field. The Buzzards have a really nice field for glider flying.
